21th Alpine Glaciology Meeting

2 - 3 February 2017, ETH Zürich, Switzerland

Location

The meeting will be held in the room number HG E 1.1 located in the "E" floor of the main building of ETH Zürich. The ETH main building is in close vicinity of the main railway station (Zürich HB) and downtown Zürich. We strongly advise you to walk or use public transportation within town (there is very limited public parking in the vicinity of ETH).

From Zürich HB and downtown either

  • walk (10 minutes)
  • walk to Central (5 minutes), take the cable car called "Polybahn"
  • take the tram (as streetcars are called here) No 6 in direction Zoo, or No 10. Get out at "ETH/Universitätsspital". The ETH main building is the symmetric building downhill of the station.

Meals / Infrastructure

  • Coffee breaks and drinks during the poster session will be offered.
  • Lunch is on an individual basis. There are several mensas on campus, and restaurants in adjacent downtown Zürich.
  • A banquet/dinner is planned on Thursday evening in the historic Linde-Oberstrass near ETH.
  • Free wireless access will be provided by ETH during the meeting.

Travel information

International trains from many major european towns arrive in Zürich HB (= Hauptbahnhof, the main station). There are direct trains from the Zürich Airport to "Zürich HB" every 10 minutes. The train ride takes 10 minutes. You'll have to purchase a ticket before entering the train. Alternatively there is Tram 10 from the Zürich Airport directly to ETH (20 minutes ride).
