Material Index Issue

Hi,

When I make a .2dm using my interpolated quality nodes and elements (with mat id set to 0 for every element) I get a mesh with a MATID column that uses element_ID for it's value. When I try to use this mesh in Basement, I get an error saying that I don't have soil indices/names for each of those 70,000+ MATIDs for my Morphology Input.

I am using Basement 2.8 as I could not figure out how to edit stringdef values in Basement v3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Emily

Re: Material Index Issue

Hi Emily,

for your first issue you might consider editing the quality elements layer and give all your elements another matid, like 1. This should solve your problem.

As for the second: you need to modify the 2dm file and put your stringdef at the end of it.

Refer to the tutorials and to the manual to understand how to do it.

Cheers
