Representation of SOL files in QGIS

Hello every one

I have output files of  Basement in SOL format which i want to show in QGIS but am not able to do so.
first i open my 2DM file in QGIS. which works quite well.
then the SOL files whose name have been changed as per manual. try to open through Crayfish plugin.
but after doing so QGIS stop working and get shutdown.

Re: Representation of SOL files in QGIS

Hello farman

please use in your BASEMENT simulation the output format 'qgis' instead of 'sms' (I suppose you are using BASEMENT v2.4). Then .dat-files will be generated, which can be loaded and visualized by Crayfish.

(Actually, the .sol files (generated with 'sms' format) and the .dat files (generated with 'qgis' format) have identical content. They differ only in the format of the file-header. Unfortunately, the Crayfish plugin has problems loading our .sol files at the moment. The header of the .dat files, however, should work with Crayfish.)

Hopefully, this resolves your problems.

Regards,
Christian

PS: the manual renaming of the data files should no longer be necessary with the current Crayfish plugin. The plugin will ask you for the file name.
