no water from umpstream and crazy velocities

Dear community,

I am running the same simulation with basement 3.0.2 and basement 2.8.

While the second is working flawlessly, with the first I am having some issues, i.e.

  1. No water is flowing from upstream

  2. There are some crazy velocities in the dry elements (vel_x=3.2e+30 m/s)

As for the second issue: if I try to visualize the velocity (both magnitude and x) on paraview I get a lot of "nan" (yellow cells for me with Paraview 5.6).

As I said, basement 2.8 is working properly with the same setup.

Here you can find a sample of my model.

the hydrographs are just something like:
0, 200.0
3600, 200.0
I also tried to use larger values.

The mesh should be fine, since bm 3.0.2 uploads it and it works with bm 2.8.

Re: no water from umpstream and crazy velocities

After an afternoon of digging I found out the solution:

  • I set the wrong direction (right instead of left) in the stringdef (shame on me!)

  • Without the path in the xdmf file I was able to view the flow velocity in ParaView

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Matteo
