From September 2023 I am holding the endowed professorship on Industrial AI at the Zurich University for Applied Sciences and leading the group for Industrial Artificial Intelligence (or Industrial Intelligent Automation) , while still strongly collaborating with the Automatic Control Lab at ETHZ. Previously, I was senior scientist and PI at the Automatic Control Lab, ETH Zurich and Head of the Advanced Control and Automation group at inspire, the technology transfer organization of ETH Zurich, between 2018 and Sept. 2023. I lead research projects in the intersection between process optimization, industrial control methods, and machine learning for various applications strongly connected to manufacturing. Since January 2021, I have been appointed as innovation expert at the Swiss innovation agency, Innosuisse. I am pationate about innovations, and serve as startup advisory board member.
