Alain is a PhD candidate at the Computer Vision Laboratory at ETH Zurich,
supervised by Prof. Luc Van Gool. His research interest are in Computer Vision
and Machine Learning. His thesis topic is on generic object detection in images
with a particular focus on Hough transform methods.
He recieved a Master of Science in Computer Science (with distinction) from ETH
Zurich in 2006. In the course of his studies, he visited various research
laboratories across Europe. He did a research internship at the VISTA group
(INRIA Rennes, France) supervised by Prof. Patrick Bouthemy, followed by an
external semester thesis at the ARIANA project (INRIA Sophia Antipolis, France)
led by Prof. Josiane Zerubia. He finally completed his master thesis on kernel
methods at the University of Southampton where he was supervised by Prof. John
Shawe-Taylor.
