Electrical Engineering STudents' European assoCiationEESTEC is an apolitical non-profit organisation which gathers students of electrical engineering and computer science all over Europe. It was founded in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 1986. Today, it is situated in Delft, Netherlands. EESTEC is composed of local committees in 43 universities of 23 European countries. The aim of the organisation is to spread, develop and exchange ideas and cooperation between students and companies all over Europe. During a year, the Local Committees organise workshops, academic events where students have a chance to learn more about popular topics from electrical and computer science. Through academic lectures and visits to factories and companies, students get familiar with the technical development of the visited country as well as with the new discoveries and knowledge in science. Besides workshops, Local Committees organise exchanges, events of cultural and social type, on which students meet the traditions and customs of different countries, get new contacts, improve their knowledge of the foreign language and with that improve their personal skills. For its members, EESTEC brings organisational and technical skills, as well as social abilities. In that way, EESTEC members acquire experiences of important significance for their future career, and because of the well developed network of the Organisation, companies can easily find the required profile for their employees.
