Welcome!

  • Since June 2014, I am a research scientist at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. I completed my PhD studies in May 2014, under the supervision of Prof. Akis Spyropoulos and Prof. Bernhard Plattner from the Communication Systems Group.

  • My main research interests are:

    Analytical Tools for Networks:
    applied probability theory,
    complex networks.
    Delay Tolerant Networks:
    analytical modeling,
    performance evaluation,
    *-cast routing.
    Wireless Sensor Networks:
    energy saving techniques.

Short bio:

  • I was born in Alexandria, Romania in 1983.

In May 2014, I completed my PhD studies at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, under the supervision of Prof. Akis Spyropoulos and Prof. Bernhard Plattner from the Communication Systems Group. I also hold a Master's degree in Telecommunications from INSA Lyon, France and an MSc in Computer Science majoring in networking from the Université de Lyon, France.

During my PhD studies, I won two Best Paper Awards (at IEEE WoWMoM 2012 and ACM MobiCom CHANTS 2013) and went on two research visits at the University of Cambridge, UK and at EURECOM, France. As part of my Master's degree, I spent one year abroad at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. The entirety of my undergraduate studies have been funded by scholarships awarded by: the "Georges Besse" foundation in France; the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the USA; and the French regions of Upper Normandy and Rhône-Alpes.
